Who Can Apply: Complete Eligibility Breakdown

To apply successfully, candidates must meet strict criteria set by the Navy. Only unmarried Indian male citizens are eligible. You should have passed your Matriculation (10th) examination with at least 50% marks from a recognised board and completed a three-year Diploma from an AICTE-recognised Polytechnic Institute with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the relevant trade.

Salary Insight and Benefits

The pay structure under the Agnipath Scheme is customised and progressive. Starting at ₹30,000 per month in the first year, it rises to ₹40,000 in the fourth year. Approximately 70% is given in hand, while 30% goes into a Seva Nidhi corpus fund, matched equally by the Government of India.

On successful completion of four years, you will receive a lump-sum Seva Nidhi package of approximately ₹10.04 Lakh.   2. Click on “Register” and register yourself as AVR (Apprentice).
  3. Use your valid email ID and mobile number for registration.

  6. Upload a recent passport-size colour photograph (taken after May 2026, 10-50 KB) with the date clearly mentioned at the bottom. A live webcam photo will also be captured during the process.
  7. Pay the application fee of ₹550 + 18% GST online through net banking, credit/debit card, or UPI.
  8. Select your preferred state for the examination centre (choice once made cannot be changed).
  9. Submit the form and keep a printout for future reference.

A correction window will open on 06 July 2026 for making necessary changes. Candidates can also use Common Service Centres (CSC) for assistance, if needed.

Selection Process

The selection happens in multiple stages:

  • Stage I: Computer-based INET exam (100 MCQs, 1 hour) covering English & General Awareness, Science, Mathematics, and Trade-specific Diploma subjects. Negative marking of 0.25 applies.
  • Stage II: Physical Fitness Test (1.6 km run in 6:30 min, 20 squats, 15 push-ups, 15 sit-ups), followed by a written exam and recruitment medical examination.
